Busby CNC Waterjet Cutting

What is waterjet?

Waterjet technology uses high-pressure and velocity water to slice metal and other materials. The process is similar to water erosion in nature — while a river could take years or decades to carve out a path in stone, waterjet technology gets the job done in mere minutes or seconds.

Waterjet technology is often used in manufacturing and fabrication to build components of cars, trucks, trailers, farm equipment, processing plant gear, signs and virtually any type of custom project.

Why waterjet?

Waterjet is one of the most accurate, precise types of fabrication technology. The water can cut through material up to six inches thick, and is accurate within 0.04 thousandths of the requested measurement.

Busby International, Inc., is one of the only local businesses in Central Washington with a dual-head waterjet and 13’-by-13’ cutting table. A dual-head machine doubles the speed of the work, completing twice as much fabrication in half the time. This saves our customers time and money, and allows us to get the job done even quicker with less programming and increased production.

Advantages include:

  • Precise Cutting
  • Smooth Finish
  • No Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ)
  • No Discoloration
  • No Material Stress
  • Uniform Parts
  • Reduce Material Waste
